OneCert is happy to announce that we have partnered with the Real Organic Project for the 2024 inspection season. This means we have streamlined the process so OneCert certified producers can get their Real Organic Project inspection at the same time as their OneCert NOP inspection at no cost!
We encourage all OneCert certified farms to check out the information from the Real Organic Project below. Contact the Real Organic Project directly or let OneCert know you would like more information and we will get you connected.
From the Real Organic Project:
Real Organic Project works only with NOP certified farms to verify that they are operating within the letter and the spirit of the organic standards. Real Organic Project certified farms are required to grow their crops in healthy, biologically active soil and raise their animals with real and meaningful access to pasture. This is in opposition to the growing trend of our supermarket shelves being stocked with “certified organic” meat, milk and eggs from confinement operations and hydroponic produce. Importantly, Real Organic Project operates as an add-on so it can help uplift and strengthen, instead of compete with, the USDA certified organic program.
In the spirit of collaboration, we are excited to announce a pilot project that will allow OneCert farms to receive their Real Organic Project inspection at the same time as the NOP inspection. We hope this will make the program more accessible by eliminating OneCert farmers’ need to coordinate separate inspections with both of our organizations.
Real Organic Project certification, including inspection visits, will remain available at no-cost. If you are already certified with Real Organic Project, you don’t need to take any further action. If you are a new farm interested in Real Organic Project certification, you can start the process by completing an application at realorganicproject.org/apply.
It is the mutual goal of OneCert and Real Organic Project to ensure that USDA Certified Organic maintains its original integrity. We are proud of the many OneCert certified farms that have joined our movement and we hope that many more choose to join this coming growing season.
