The National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) Fall meeting is scheduled for November 4-6, 2025, in Omaha, NE. However, due to the USDA lapse in appropriations, the National Organic Program (NOP) staff are currently furloughed, impacting the meeting format.
Here’s a quick overview of the plans:
- In-Person Meeting (Omaha, NE): If NOP staff return by 9 am ET on October 16, 2025, the meeting will proceed in-person in Omaha, with livestreaming available for both the meeting and public comment webinars.
- Virtual Meeting: If NOP staff return after 9 am ET on October 16 but before 9 am ET on October 22, 2025, the meeting and public comment webinars will be held virtually.
- Cancellation: If NOP staff do not return by 9 am ET on October 22, 2025, the NOSB Fall meeting and public comment webinars will be canceled.
Additional details about the meeting can be found on the NOP’s NOSB Fall 2025 Meeting webpage.
The National Organic Coalition (NOC), co-sponsored by OneCert, also has an exciting Pre-NOSB meeting planned. This includes a panel of organic grain producers, a Q&A with Dr. Jenny Tucker, discussions on risk-based certification and reducing burdens on small farms, and policy updates. If the government does not reopen by 9 am ET on October 16, the NOC meeting will shift to a virtual format, tentatively scheduled for 1-4 pm ET on Monday, November 3, and 1-4 pm ET on Monday, November 17. Karlin, our CEO, plans to attend, and we hope you will join us in whichever format the meetings take place! Learn more about NOC’s event here: Upcoming events — National Organic Coalition.
